The first private clinic in Kintampo
Sunkwa means 'pray for life' in English. That word shapes every decision we make about how patients are received, treated and followed up.
Establishment of Sunkwa Clinic
The late 1970’s and early 1980’s was among the most difficult periods in Ghana’s economic and healthcare history. The country experienced severe shortages of essential medicines and medical supplies. Healthcare institutions struggled to meet the growing needs of patients.
Witnessing these challenges firsthand convinced Mr. Sampson Takyi Kwakye ( CEO and founder in the blessed memory) that private healthcare could complement government efforts by providing accessible, reliable, and quality medical services to the people. Motivated by this vision and his passion for community service, he resigned from government service after one year at the Kintampo Health Centre and established his own private medical practice.
Dependable care, without the runaround
We believe good healthcare should be predictable: a doctor who knows your history, results the same day, medicine you can trust, and a bill explained before you pay. Our teams are organised around that promise, from the front desk to the emergency bay.
Every patient sees a named clinician
You are assigned a lead doctor who follows your case through referrals and reviews.
Results, not guesswork
Our on-site lab returns most results the same day so treatment can start immediately.
Care that continues at home
Follow-up calls, medication reminders and postnatal home visits are part of the service.
